Job Description

ATC’s Data Centre Installer role is essential for supporting data centre operations across Europe. Below are the key aspects of the position:

  1. Client Site Attendance: You will visit data centre sites punctually with required tools, uniform, safety gear, and documentation to ensure seamless service delivery.
  2. Installation of IT Hardware: Safely unpack, position, and install server racks using power tools and standard procedures for efficient setup.
  3. Heavy Lifting: Frequently lift equipment weighing 30–40 kg, and occasionally up to 50 kg, following safe handling methods to prevent injuries.
  4. Cabling Work: Patch and manage fibre and copper cables, ensuring high-quality connections while adhering to client-specific requirements.
  5. Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional service by acting professionally and communicating effectively with clients and team members at all times.
  6. Health and Safety Compliance: Strictly follow client protocols, safety standards, and security measures during every task to maintain a secure work environment.
  7. Daily Reporting: Log activities, report delays, safety concerns, and task completions, ensuring consistent communication with supervisors and managers.
  8. Administrative Support: Complete checklists, documentation, and general administrative tasks efficiently to support operational goals.
  9. Team Collaboration: Work closely with planners, team leaders, and other staff, contributing to a cohesive and high-performing environment.
  10. Additional Tasks: Be ready to undertake other duties aligned with your skills and company needs, supporting overall service excellence.

  4. Cabling Expertise: Manage complex cabling tasks involving fibre optics and copper wires, improving connectivity and network reliability.
  5. Client Relations: Offer industry-leading service by maintaining professionalism, addressing client needs, and resolving issues promptly.
  6. Adherence to Standards: Follow strict health, safety, and security protocols to provide a compliant and secure working environment.
  7. Effective Communication: Report to managers and colleagues regularly, updating on task progress, concerns, and solutions in a timely manner.
  8. Task Documentation: Complete daily reports, checklists, and administrative paperwork, ensuring accurate tracking and accountability.

Requirements

  1. Organisational Skills: Ability to plan tasks, manage timelines, and adapt to changing priorities with precision and attention to detail.
  2. Driving License: Must hold a valid class B driver’s license with a clean record to safely transport equipment between locations.
  3. Tool Handling Experience: Familiarity with hand and power tools is essential for installing hardware and managing cabling tasks.
  4. Software Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and email communication to complete reports and documentation.
  5. Language Skills: Proficiency at B1 level in English and at least A2 in the local language ensures effective communication.
  6. Flexibility: Comfortable working under pressure, changing priorities, and adapting to different environments and client demands.
  7. Cabling Knowledge (Optional but Preferred): Experience with structured cabling, including fibre and copper, is an advantage.
  8. Previous Experience (Optional): Background in data centre installation, logistics, or construction enhances readiness for the role.
